The high priestess of `morality´ AKA Sonia Gandhi

The high priestess of `morality´ AKA Sonia Gandhi, as done it again.
It’s really difficult to do it again and again, if you don’t believe me, ask Tom Hanks. He has done it time and again.
Or better ask Rishi Kapoor (we better stick to Indian, because we are talking about a person who is most `most Indian´ at heart.)
Rishi Kapoor could not do it even once…. Get an award for best acting.
Normally I would not have compared Sonia to Tom Hanks or Rishi (both being males and good actors). But after reading today’s newspapers I was compelled to do it.

It was a great shock to see Sonia being compared to Rani Lakshmi bai, Indira Gandhi (One news papers has gone to the extent of saying Sonia has surpassed Indira in political acumen). The height (or may we call it the lowest ebb) of boot licking was, Times of India has compared Sonia to none other than MAHATMA GANDHI. The Cardinal Sin – shall we say!

But now, coming on the question of Sonia resigning, that was the most logical and practical thing to do, in the given circumstances. Rather than being disqualified by the election commission, she has taken a more decent way out.
Any practically thinking politician would the same thing. But making it a point of high morality is a mistake.
The case for morality would be the bringing of an ordinance to save a particular person who has broken the law.
Sonia did the right thing in the given situation. This does not make her a saint, but a smart politician. Neither her morality can be said to be more than Vajpayee or less than Laloo or Shahbuddin. All the birds of the same feather.

For the persons eulogising Sonia and competing with each other in boot-licking , I would like to ask, what about morality when the Mitrokin archives were rubbished, quattochchi’s bank accounts were opened up, Goa , Jharkhand and Bihar were played out. But I should say to these suckers, keep up the work, some day you will also be made the governors of some state or will be heading some important and cash rich commissions of government of India (remember the likes of Praful Kidwai). After all in the olden days suckers like this used to be awarded with jagirs by the then maharajas.

Lastly, I repeat, Sonia has done the right thing in the given circumstances, but it is the sycophants, who by making it a case study in morality, are making a mockery of it. Sonia’s stature is being lowered by such eulogies (for no fault of hers).

I agree to what sandeep says. Indians at large have blind faith in many political leaders, be it fundamentalist, secularist or others.
Sonia has simply followed this rule....
"IF you cannot COMPETE THEN JUST COMPROMISE".
