Rohini

Unspeakable tragedy,irreparable loss,mourning,reconciliation,recuperation,indifference,gifts,greetings,celebrations !

The preparations for Diwali started on a very high note. Buying the decorations, crackers, new clothes, preparing sweets and all. Sunday ( 11/11/2012) was supposed to be a hectic day of preparations for Diwali. But the early morning phone call from Pappi Tai, changed it all.
Even though we knew it was coming, the untimely death of the starlet Rohini was, and will remain a great tragedy.
She came and she went, and we, in our ever so busy schedules never noticed that a tiny starlet was silently twinkling in our own little sky. She was silently showering her little twinkling light in our own courtyards and even in our own home, but we forgot to notice. We all had love in our hearts for the little girl. But, Oh ! we have enough time for that later. (sic)
The starlet just twinkled and smiled and never demanded anything more. She spent all the twinkling power and one day just stopped twinkling.

This Diwali was dark, No lamps, no crackers, no pooja and not even Bhau-Beez !

Shashank and Sneha are too young to understand, but god knows how , for once they immediately agreed when we said that we will not light lamps or fire crackers and not wear the new clothes for some days.
The blood has its own ways of speaking out !

The time never stops and soon there will be celebrations again. The tiny starlet may not be twinkling in our sky, but surely she might be more nearer to the god and the smile and the twinkle would have become broader and brighter.

My heart goes out to Raju Anna and Heera Vaini.
But the starlet's twinkle will remain for ever in their hearts !
